#65 Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 Match to #67 Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, VA - The women's tennis team, ranked 65th in the pre-season poll, opened up its spring season with a close match at Virginia Tech, losing 4-3 to the 67th-ranked Hokies.
After losing all three doubles matches to start the competition, the Bears split the six singles matches, to fall 4-3. Winning for Brown was junior Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) at #2 (6-4, 6-2), sophomore Kim Singer (Newport Beach, CA) at #3 (7-5, 6-4), and senior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) at #4 (6-2, 5-2, 7-6 (4)).
The Bears continue action on Sunday, February 8, when they square off against the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
