Tim Murphy

Position: Assistant Coach
A 1982 graduate of Northeastern University with a BS in History and a 1987 graduate of Providence with an MBA, Tim Murphy begins his second year with the Brown women's tennis team.

The Boys Tennis Coach at Barrington High School from 1994-2001, Murphy guided his team to four State Team Championships, including an unbeaten streak of 65 matches, while compiling a 115-23 record over eight years. In addition, his teams also won five Class A Division Championships. He has also coached three State Singles Champions and three State Doubles Champions.

In addition to his responsibilities at Barrington High School, Murphy has also worked as a Tennis Professional since 1990. In this role, he has worked full time with ranked junior players, and has conducted clinics on various levels. Murphy has also served as the Director of the St. Andrews School Tennis Camp, helping to instruct 175 children, both ranked and at the beginner level.

A resident of Bristol, RI, Murphy is also the owner of Professional Racquet Stringing in Bristol.
