Victoria Beck has played at the top of the singles and doubles lineups since she came to Brown, and it is not surprising, considering her background. As a junior player in New Zealand, she was her country's 12's, 14's and 16's singles runner-up, and twice won the National girls doubles title in the 14's and 16's. She was a member of the New Zealand World Youth Cup team four times and was part of a National junior development squad from the ages of 12-18. Victoria also won the Australian National Doubles title in the 14's. Her last junior rankings in New Zealand were #4 Nationally and #1 Sectionally. At Brown, Victoria has competed primarily in the #1 singles and doubles positions, posting a 14-12 overall record in her first semester with the Bears, and a 15-18 singles and 13-15 doubles record for the 2001-2002 school year, earning Second Team All-Ivy honors with partner Alex Arlak. At the completion of the 2002 fall season, Victoria had an overall record of 5-3. Her natural instincts on the doubles court and volley skills are a real asset to any partner she plays with. Victoria continues to be one of Brown's best players, and this year, serves as a captain of the team.
