In her third year of competition on the Brown tennis team, Bridget Barbera has established herself as a steady reliable top-six singles player. As a junior, Bridget ranked #167 nationally and #11 in the East prior to coming to Brown. At Pelham Memorial High School, she competed at the #1 singles position, and went undefeated in her sophomore and junior years. In 1997 and 1998, she received the Conference and Sectional MVP award and received the Sportsmanship Award at the 16's Zonals in Texas. At Brown, during her freshman year, she accumulated an overall record of 18-25, which reflects more singles than doubles results. After taking the spring semester off in 2002, Bridget returned to the tennis program this past fall, and competed in the top six of the singles lineup. She completed the fall season with a 4-2 overall record, and with her work ethic, should continue to improve and help the Bears reach their goals for 2003.
