Lord Named ITA Northeast Rookie of the Year

SKILLMAN, N.J. – Brown women's tennis' rookie standout, Dayna Lord, was named the ITA's Northeast Rookie of the Year in an announcement made by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday.

Lord, the native of Bloomfield, Connecticut, cemented her status as one of the Ivy League's top players this past season, notching an impressive 29-7 record in No. 1 singles and 25-9 mark in No. 1 doubles play.  For her efforts on the court this season, Lord earned the Ivy League Rookie of the Year award and secured First Team All-Ivy singles honors.  Lord also teamed up with teammate Hannah Camhi to earn Second Team All-Ivy recognition in doubles play.

Lord's 29 singles victories this season rank second all-time in the Brown record book as she joins assistant coach Bianca Aboubakare as the Bears' only regional Rookie of the Year honorees.  Her 54 combined wins in 2013-14 also place her second all-time at Brown, as she passes Elisa Banner '00, who tallied 53 total wins in 1997.
