Women’s Tennis Falls to #51 Virginia Commonwealth

RALEIGH, NC – The Brown women's tennis team (4-5) dropped a 5-2 decision to #51 Virginia Commonwealth (13-4) in a neutral site match played at NC State on Friday afternoon. The Bears claimed a pair of singles victories, winning at #3 and #6. 

Virginia Commonwealth opened the match by winning at #2 and #3 doubles to earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead in the match. Sophomore Sarah Kandath (Gansevoort, NY) earned a three-set win at #3 singles (2-6, 6-1, 6-2) and freshman Olivia Hsu (Santa Rosa, CA) won in three sets at #6 (5-7, 6-3, 10-6) for the Bears' two points.

Brown continues action on Saturday afternoon when the Bears face NC State in a 2:00 p.m. match.
