NEW HAVEN, CT - The 58th-ranked Brown women's tennis team (16-8,
4-3) dropped its final match of the 2009-10 season, falling to #48
Yale, 5-2. The Bears fell behind early after losing the doubles
point, but put up a good fight in singles action in what was a
narrow loss. Junior Bianca Aboubakare (Orange, CA) and sophomore
Julie Flanzer (Highland Park, IL) both won singles matches and the
Bulldogs needed a third set to claim two more singles matches, as
both sophomore Cassandra Herzberg (Miami Beach, FL) and freshman
Misia Krasowski (Deerfield, IL) fought back to win their respective
second sets and force a third set at #2 and #3, respectively.
Brown's doubles win came at #1, where Aboubakare and Herzberg upset
80th-ranked Vicky Brook and Lindsay Clark.
