#66 Women's Tennis Falls to #33 Princeton, 5-2
PROVIDENCE, RI – The 66th-ranked Brown women’s tennis team (13-6, 1-1) dropped a 5-2 decision to #33 Princeton on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers remained undefeated in Ivy League play with a 3-0 record. The Bears dropped the doubles point and were quickly behind, 3-0, with losses at #1 and #5 singles. Junior Bianca Aboubakare (Orange, CA) got Brown on the board with a win at #2 singles, but Princeton clinched the match with a victory at #3, going up, 4-1.
Both sophomore Julie Flanzer (Highland Park, IL) and junior Marisa Schonfeld (Washington, DC) went three sets in their matches at #4 and #6, respectively. With the match already decided in Princeton’s favor, they played a super tiebreaker for their third sets, with Flanzer dropping hers, 10-3, and Schonfeld winning hers, 10-3, for the final 5-2 score.
