The Brown women's swimming and diving team celebrated the conclusion of the 2007-2008 season and handed out four awards, the Florence Filippo MVP Award, the Dave Roach Coaches Award, the Martha Juokowsky Scholar-Athlete Award, and the Service Award, to deserving members of the team.
The Florence Filippo Award is given to the member of the women's swimming and diving team who contributed the most to the success of the team during that season. The team members and coaches vote to determine the winner of this highly prestigious award. The 2008 recipient was sophomore Bailey Langner (Martinez, CA)
The Dave Roach Coaches Award is an annual award given to a member of the women's swimming and diving team who has demonstrated the qualities of dedication, personal self-improvement, and sportsmanship. This student athlete has shown true determination, and hard work thus earning the respect of her contemporaries and proving her worth to the team in a number of ways. The coaching staff votes to determine the recipient of this prestigious award. The 2008 recipient was senior Dillon Delaney (West Barnstable, MA), who earned the honor for the third straight season, and was also the recipient of the Martha Joukowsky Scholar-Athlete Award, given to a member of the women's swimming and diving team who, through dedication in the classroom and in the pool, exemplifies the true meaning of a scholar-athlete.
The Service Award is given to a member of the women's swimming and diving team who exemplifies unselfishness through commitment and hard work in the pool, in the community, and for the team. The 2008 recipients were seniors Lauren Zatorski (Winnetka, IL) and Jessica Howard-Anderson (Goleta, GA).
Brown also recognized its varsity letterwinners for the season in four different levels; First letter, two-time letterwinner, three-time letterwinner, and four-time letterwinner. Delaney and senior Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI) each earned a letter for the fourth season, while senior Jacquelyn Rudis (North Andover, MA), and juniors Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA) and Ainsley McFadgen (Glace Bay, NS) earned their third letter. Junior Jessica Williams (McLean, V), sophomore Katie Olko (Harrison, NY), Zatorski, and Langner all earned a letter for the second time, while freshmen Sage Erskine (Arlington, VA), Natascha Mangan (Keizer, OR), Stephanie Pollard (Victoria, BC), Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim (Albuquerque, NM), Katherine Wargo (Killingworth, CT), and Kelley Wisinger (Warren, NJ) all earned their first letters.
