NASSAU, NY - The Brown women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2009 Ivy Championships in seventh place with a total of 627 points, finishing ahead of Cornell, which had 494.5 points. Harvard won the Championship with 1583.5 points, while Princeton finished in second with 1334. Yale (1038), Penn (948), Columbia (916), and Dartmouth (630) rounded out the eight-team field.
Brown opened the final day with senior Ainsley McFadgen (Glace Bay, NS) taking 11th in the 1650 Free with a time of 17:01.73. Next up was the 200 Back, in which the Bears had their best finish of the day, as sophomore Kelley Wisinger (Warren, NJ) took sixth with a time of 2:02.66.
Next up was the 100 Free, in which freshman Kristen Caldarella (Orwigsburg, PA) earned 14th with a time of 52.21. Freshman Jamie Firth (Felton, CA) led Brown in the 200 Breast, clocking in at 2:27.07 to finish in 22nd, while sophomore Natascha Mangan (Keizer, OR) led Brown in the 200 Fly, placing 12th with a time of 2:04.25.
Brown's 400 Free Relay team of Caldarella, senior Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA), sophomore Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim (Albuquerque, NM), and sophomore Stephanie Pollard (Victoria, BC) closed out the swimming events with a sixth place finish, clocking in at 3:26.98.
In diving action, junior Katie Olko (Harrison, NY) placed 12th in the 3-Meter, scoring a 224.05.
