Bears Finish Ivy Swimming & Diving Championships in Sixth

CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Brown women's swimming & diving team closed out the 2006 season with a sixth place finish at the Ivy Swimming & Diving Championships, held at Harvard. Princeton won with a total of 1580 points, while Harvard took second with 1445 points. Columbia earned third (968.5), Penn took fourth (947), while Yale finished in fifth (920). Brown scored a total of 868 points, while Dartmouth (579.5) and Cornell (532) rounded out the field.
Brown opened the day with a 15th place finish in the 1650 Free as sophomore Dillon Delaney (West Barnstable, MA) swam a time of 17:24.82. Senior Bridgette Cahill (Turnersville, NJ) led Brown in the 200 Back, taking 16th with a time of 2:08.39.
Senior Eileen Robinson (Harbour Grace, NF) won the only event of the day for Brown with a time of 50.56 in the 100 Free, while junior Julia Lippe-Klein (Palo Alto, CA) was Brown's top finisher in the 200 Breast, finishing in 16th with a time of 2:26.74.
Brown's 400 Free Relay team of Robinson, junior Becky Kowalsky (Ft. Myers, FL), freshman Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA), and senior Elizabeth Wong (Santa Monica, CA) finished the Championships with a second place finish, earning a time of 3:31.59.
