Position: Assistant Coach
Elizabeth Welch, who spent two seasons as an assistant swim coach across the city at Providence College, was named an assistant coach for the Brown men's and women's swimming and diving team in the fall of 2005

The former Elizabeth Reisenweber, she joins the Bears after two seasons as an assistant coach and Building Supervisor for the Peterson Recreation Center at Providence College. In addition to her coaching duties with the Friars, Reisenweber was also an Assistant Coach for the Providence Aquatic Club from 2003-2005.

Welch has also worked at the United State Naval Academy summer camp (2005), the Berkeley County School System in Martinsburg, WV as a Head Swimming Coach and Long Term Substitute Teacher (2001-2003), and the Ocean City (MD) Beach Patrol as a Crew Chief (1999-present).

A 2001 graduate of West Virginia University, Welch was a four-year Dean's List Student, while competing for the Mountaineer Swim Team from 1998-2001. An All-American Academic Team member in 1998-1999, Welch earned a West Virginia Athletics Academic Excellence Award (1998-2001), was a member of the Big East Academic All-Star Team (1998, 2000), and was a CSCAA Honorable Mention Academic All-Star (2001). The Big East Conference Record Holder in the 200 Free Relay, Welch holds West Virginia records in the 100 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 400 Medley Relay.

Welch earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Virginia in 2001, graduating Cum Laude, and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Physical Education and Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island.
