Hanover, NH – The #9 ranked Brown women's squash team defeated #8 Dartmouth, 7-2, this past weekend in Hanover in its final regular season match that could have seeding implications for the CSA team championship. Dartmouth only played with five players due to suspensions, forfeiting the other four games to Brown.
#1 junior Dori Rahbar (Newton, MA) lost a tough game in five games, taking the third and fourth games with scores of 11-6 and 13-11. Junior Sarah Domenick (Philadelphia, PA) won at #2, beating her opponent in four sets, 11-8, 11-7, 9-11, and 11-3. Sophomore #3 Mina Shakarshy (Margate, NJ) played well, but it wasn't enough, and ended up losing 3-0.
Senior Sarah Crosky (Williamstown, MA), seeded #4, bounced back from a loss in her final home game to handily beat her opponent in her final away game in three straight sets, 11-5, 11-1, and 11-5. Sophomore #5 Katherine Elliott-Moskwa (Princeton, NJ) racked up the final victory for the Bears, taking it in four sets, 11-2, 11-4, 8-11, and 11-3.
The Bears will spend this week preparing for the CSA Team Championships at Yale on February 15-17.
