The Brown women's squash team enjoyed an extremely successful day at the Wesleyan Round Robin on Saturday 3rd December, with two 9-0 wins over Wesleyan and Connecticut College book-ending an exhilarating 6-3 win over Mount Holyoke. With a long winter break ahead, the three victories lift the Bears into a great frame of mind.
The highlight of Saturday's competition was the exciting match up against Mt. Holyoke, a very talented team and gave the Bears great matches throughout the lineup. There were three outstanding matches that stood out, all in the first four matches.
Brown lost the first match of the day and was 2-1 down in two other matches. Close to going down 0-4 in the first round of matches, Brown rallied behind the great fighting spirit saw sophomore Sarah Domenick, who came back from 0-2 down to win 3-2, and freshman Katherine Elliott-Moskwa, who was 7-10 down in the fifth and heroically came back to win 14-12. Meanwhile Senior Erika Kohnen won in four tightly contested games.
Next up for the Bears is an Ivy match against Columbia on January 14, 2012, at the Pizzitola Sports Center's Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion
