The Brown softball team had four athletes named to the 2004 All-Ivy softball team selected by the league's head coaches. Brown had junior Uchenna Omokaro (Hercules, CA) and freshman Courtney Jenkins (Piedmont, CA) named Pitcher and Rookie of the year respectively. The Bears had two players on the First Team as Omokaro and senior second baseman Laura Leonetti (Fresno, TX) were selected. Sophomore Jaimie Wirkowski (Edison, NJ) and Jenkins earned second team honors for the Bears as well.
Omokaro earned First Team honors for the second year in a row after leading the pitching squad with a 7-4 record and a 6-1 mark in the league prior to playoff week. Omokaro held an impressive 2.35 ERA and had 65 strikeouts in 89.1 innings.
A two-time First Team All-Ivy Selection, Leonetti finished second in batting and fourth in runs scored in the Ivy League. Leonetti played in 156 games with 143 hits and 59 runs batted in. Her 85 runs scored are fourth all-time at Brown. She led the Bears to the Ivy League Championship, with a team-high .408 batting average, along with 42 hits, 34 runs, and eight doubles. She was also second on the team with three homeruns.
Wirkowski, a repeat Second Team selection was the second highest batter for the Bears with a .362 average. She was tied for first with 41 hits and eight doubles and second on the team with 27 runs and 29 RBI. Wirkowski finished fifth in batting in the league.
Jenkins led the freshmen squad with a stellar rookie season batting .330. She led the team with 36 RBI and nine homeruns and tied for third in the Ivy League. In homeruns she is tied for third all-time at Brown.
