Providence, RI - For the second consecutive year, senior pitcher Michelle Moses (Cooper City, FL) has been named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District in softball. The team is selected by voting members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
A Commerce, Organizations & Entrepreneurship concentrator with a 4.0 GPA, Moses was Brown's (12-26, 5-15) strongest pitcher with a 5-8 record and a 3.93 ERA. This past season, she appeared in 22 games, started in 15 and pitched nine complete games. She ranked second in the Ivy League in saves with three, and was seventh in strikeouts with 70. She was also selected a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate, and elected into the Brown Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
In her four-year career with the Bears, she made 91 appearances on the mound and received 64 starts. Her junior year she was the only Ivy League student-athlete to be named a CoSIDA/ESPN Third Team Academic-All American, and has also been a to-time participant in the Maccabi Games representing the USA Women's Softball Team. She ranks sixth all-time in innings pitched at Brown (405) and also second all-time in strikeouts (322).
