Leonetti Returns To Brown As An Assistant Softball Coach

Providence, RI - Laura Leonetti has been named an assistant coach for the Bears' softball team for this upcoming season. Leonetti will assist head coach Pam McCreesh in all aspects of coaching this year.

Leonetti was a four-year letterwinner for Brown before she graduated in May of 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. A member of the Ivy League Championship team a year ago, Leonetti lead the team with a .408 hitting percentage 42 hits, including eight doubles, one triple and three home runs. She also had 24 RBIs. Leonetti was named to the All-Ivy First Team 2002, 2003, 2004 and awarded Honorable Mention All-Ivy in 2001. Also in 2004, Leonetti was awarded with the Marjorie Brown Smith Award, which is presented to Brown's Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

This past summer Leonetti played professional softball in the National Professional Fastpitch League, for the New England Riptide.
