Baxter's Three Homeruns Leads Bears Past St. Francis 10-1, In Opening Game Of UMBC Tournament

Baltimore, MD - Sophomore Amy Baxter was the Bear's offensive force in the 10-1 win over St. Francis, hitting the long ball all three times she stepped to the plate, bringing in six runners. Freshman Michelle Moses recorded the win on the mound, holding St. Francis' bats to only three hits, while striking out seven in the complete seven inning game.
Freshman Kelsey Wilson also went a perfect 3-3 at the plate crossing the plate all three times she was on the bases. Junior Melissa Ota also was a force for the Brown offense, finishing 2-2 with a homerun and a double, brining in a runner and tallied two of the Bear's ten runs.
The Bears will return to action tomorrow morning facing Niagara at 8:15 a.m. Later that morning Brown will take on Sacred Heart at 10:10 a.m. and then face host UMBC at 2:00 p.m. wrapping up action for the day.
