Brown Softball Opened the 2002 Season With two wins over Central Connecticut

Brown had two solid performances on the mound, as junior Erin Durlesser (Santa Monica, CA) pitched the first game, while freshman Uchenna Omokaro (Hercules, CA) threw during the second.

In game one, Brown got on the scoreboard first in the 4th inning, when the Bears exploded offensively for four runs. Junior Cara Howe (Missouri City, TX) hit for two RBI's, while rookie Candace Toth (Woodinville, WA) also drove in two runs in the game. Durlesser struck out seven batters on her way to allowing only one Blue Devil run.

In the second game, the Bears collected their two runs in the 2nd and 3rd, with sophomore Laura Leonetti (Fresno, TX) and Cara Howe each posting an RBI apiece in the game. Omokaro struck out 4 batters in the game.

Brown hits the road for the upcoming weekend, taking on Drexel University on Saturday March 16 and Villanova University on Sunday March 17. Game times are set for 1:00pm and 12:00pm, respectively.
