PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University softball junior pitcher/utility Meghan Wimmer has earned First Team All-Ivy, and sophomore catcher Raquel Blanchard has gained Honorable Mention All-Ivy, the Ivy League announced on Wednesday afternoon.

A team captain, Wimmer led the Bears in batting average (.398), home runs (seven), RBIs (23), runs (21), hits (39), on-base percentage (.496), slugging percentage (.724), and walks (18), while standing second in the Ivy League in slugging, third in OBP, and fifth in batting average. The Team MVP posted a .340 batting average, .441 OBP, .509 slugging percentage, 18 hits, nine runs, nine RBIs, three doubles, two homers, and eight walks in Ivy play. In the circle, Wimmer pitched five complete games and 72.2 innings on the year, struck out 42 batters, and averaged 4.05 strikeouts per seven innings.

Blanchard ranked fourth on the team with a .297 batting average and 16 RBIs, while posting 19 hits, four doubles, and three runs scored. She tallied a .309 on-base percentage and .359 slugging percentage. In Ivy League play, Blanchard hit .286 with four doubles and 10 RBIs. Despite missing part of the season due to injury, she played in 21 games with 20 starts, including 12 games and 11 starts in conference competition.
