PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University softball freshman pitcher Grace Ladd has won Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after earning a win over Harvard University on Sunday, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday.
A native of Boulder, Colo., Ladd registered a 0.00 ERA as she came on in relief to earn the win over Harvard on Sunday, helping the Bears gain their first series win over the Crimson since 2004.
In Brown's 11-3 win in game three, Ladd threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just one hit and limiting Harvard to a .083 batting average. She inherited two runners and did not allow either of them to score.
Ladd and the Bears close the season in a three-game series at Dartmouth with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 5 beginning at 12:30 p.m. and a single game on Sunday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m.
