PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University softball sophomore pitcher Emily Waters has gained Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing her first career complete-game shutout last week, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday.
A native of Northridge, Calif., Waters tallied a 2.13 ERA over 26.1 innings last week, while recording her first career complete-game shutout. She tossed the full 7.0 innings in a 4-0 win over Penn on Sunday, allowing just four hits in the shutout win.
In game one at Hartford on Tuesday, she did not allow a run over 3.0 innings, picking up the save in a 1-0 win. She gave up just one earned run over 5.2 innings in game two against the Hawks. For the season, she has posted a 3.59 ERA.
Waters and the Bears next play at Cornell for a three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 7 beginning at 12:30 p.m. and a single game on Sunday, Apr. 8 at 12:30 p.m.
