HANOVER, N.H. – Brown University softball hit six homers – three in each game – but fell to Dartmouth College in an Ivy League North Division doubleheader, 13-5 and 7-5, on Sunday afternoon at Dartmouth Softball Park.
The Bears (11-24, 3-9 Ivy) tied game two at 5-5 before ultimately dropping the decision after the Big Green (10-21-1, 9-3 Ivy) took a win in five innings in game one.
Junior Annie McGregor (Carlsbad, Calif.) and sophomore Cat Seitz (Poway, Calif.) each hit two home runs on the day while sophomore Meghan Wimmer (Boothwyn, Pa.) – who also pitched a complete game in game two – and freshman Kaitlin Okimoto (Burbank, Calif.) posted one homer apiece. For the season, Brown has now hit 17 home runs in 12 Ivy League games.

Game 1: Dartmouth 13, Brown 5 (5 Innings)
The Bears took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-run homer from McGregor, but the Big Green went ahead 8-2 through two innings and plated five runs in the fourth on its way to the win.
McGregor notched her fifth and sixth home runs of the season and finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs while Seitz registered her second homer of the year.
Dartmouth's Breanna Ethride gained the win (7-13), throwing a complete-game 5.0 innings and allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits with two strikeouts. At the plate, Morgan Martinelli went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs.
McGregor pushed Brown ahead in the top of the first, sending a two-run blast into left field.
The Big Green tied the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the first on a two-run single from Martinelli. The hosts plated six runs in the last of the second to move ahead 8-2 with a two-run double from Maddie Damore highlighting the frame.
Seitz cut the Bears' deficit to 8-4 with a two-run homer to left center in the top of the fourth. Dartmouth responded with five runs in the home half of the fourth, including a two-run shot from Martinelli, gaining a 13-4 edge.
McGregor added a solo homer to left field in the top of the fifth.
Junior Katie Orona (Pueblo, Colo.) took the loss (5-10) in the start.
Game 2: Dartmouth 7, Brown 5
The Bears scored five runs on a trio of homers in the top of the fourth to knot the score at 5-5, but the Big Green brought in two runs in the bottom of the sixth to garner the victory.
Seitz posted her second homer of the day and fourth of the season, going 2-for-4 in the game, Okimoto notched her fourth blast of the year, and Wimmer – who also pitched a complete game – tallied her first career home run.
Wimmer tossed 6.0 innings, giving up seven runs, four earned, on 10 hits with two strikeouts in the loss (5-8).
The Big Green's Breanna Ethridge captured her second win (8-13) of the day, tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless relief with two hits and one strikeout. Dartmouth's Morgan Martinelli went 4-for-4 at the plate, compiling six RBIs, two homers, and two runs scored.
After Martinelli hit a solo shot in the bottom of the second, the hosts plated four runs in the last of the third, including a three-run blast from Martinelli, to go ahead 5-0.
Brown responded in the top of the fourth, driving home five runs on three homers to tie it at 5-5. Seitz started the rally with a solo home run to left field before Wimmer launched a solo shot of her own to left. Okimoto followed with a three-run blast over the wall in left center.
Dartmouth regained the lead in the bottom of the six as Martinelli hit a two-run single to right center field.
