2012: Appeared in 23 games and made 18 pitching starts during her rookie season…Led the team with seven wins and a strikeout to walk ratio of 1.6…Struck out 68 batters in 115.1 innings pitched…Held lefties to a .289 batting average and achieved a 3.62 ERA in conference games.

Personal: Jessica Cherness is the daughter of Jeff and April Cherness of Torrance, California…She has three sisters, Melissa, who graduated from Cal State Long Beach, Michelle, who graduated from UC Santa Cruz, and Cindy…Her cousin Cristina plays basketball at Long Beach City College and her cousin Steven plays baseball at Cal State Los Angeles…Enjoys playing piano and volunteering…Concentrating in Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations (BEO).
