Providence, RI- In a recent announcement made by the Ivy League, junior first baseman Kate Strobel (Denver, CO) earned First Team All-Ivy honors while sophomore third baseman Stephanie Thompson (Chino, CA) received Second Team All-Ivy honors.
At first base, Strobel is earning first team All-Ivy honors for the first time in her career after a season in which she started in all 37 of Brown's games and batted a .383 with nine homeruns and 27 RBI. She led the team in walks with 17, and ranked second on the team in hits (41), homeruns, and RBI. All nine of her homers came in League play to lead the Ivies, and also during the Ivy season she slugged .860, the third highest mark for the year, while also adding 21 RBI.
Thompson is also earning her first Ivy League honor as she led the Bears in nearly all statistical categories this season. Thompson ranks first in the country with a .504 batting average and 12th with a .558 on base percentage, led the team in nearly all statistical categories. Starting in all 37 games, Thompson tallied 37 hits, 11 doubles, 13 homeruns and 31 RBI.
