PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown senior soccer standouts Jill Mansfield (East Windsor, NJ) and Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN), who were both named First Team All-Ivy this season, have been selected to play in the 2006 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The game, which pits players from Division III against those from Divisions I & II, will be played at noon on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Merrimack College.
A unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, Moos was the Ivy League leading scorer with 36 points, 13 more than the next closest person. She also led the Ivy League with 15 goals, six more than the next closest player. A three-time selection to the SoccerBuzz Elite Team of the Week this season, Moos was named Ivy Player of the Week twice this year and to the SoccerTimes Weekly Honor Roll once. She currently ranks sixth in the nation in both points (2.12) and goals (0.88) per game. Moos has also carved her name into the Brown record books, and will graduate from Brown as the first player since the 1980s to crack Brown's all-time top five in several offensive categories. She ranks 4th in career goals (31), 10th in career assists (14), 6th in career points (76), 3rd (15 in 2006) and 16th (9 in 2003) in season goals, 13th in season assists (6), and 3rd (36 in 2006) and 20th (20 in 2003) in season points.
Mansfield was Brown's other First Team selection, earning All-Ivy honors for the third consecutive year, after garnering Honorable Mention All-Ivy in each of the past two seasons. Mansfield had one of her best years in a Brown uniform, finishing second on the team in points (19), 5th in the Ivy League, goals (6), 5th in the Ivy League, and assists (7), 2nd in the Ivy League. Mansfield was recently named a Second Team District I Academic All-American and will leave Brown ranked 6th all-time in career assists (18), 20th all-time in career points (34), and 8th (7 in 2006) in season assists.
