Freshman Kathryn Moos, of Wayzata, Minnesota, earned Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week honors (week ending October 26), following Brown's 3-2 (ot) Ivy League victory over Cornell.
Moos, who notched two goals in Brown's win at Harvard to earn Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors last week, has now scored five goals in two games. She scored all three of Brown's goals in the Bears' overtime win at Cornell, and is now the team's point leader with 16 points and the team's goal leader with seven goals. Moos tied the Cornell game with her first goal at 1-1 and then gave the Bears a 2-1 lead with her second goal. After Cornell tied the contest at 2-2, she netted the game-winning goal just 50 seconds into overtime as the Bears have assured themselves a winning season for the first time since 2000.
Under the direction of Head Coach Phil Pincince, the women's soccer team currently has a 9-3-2 record and a 3-2 mark in the Ivy League. The Bears will travel to Boston College for a key regional match-up on Wednesday, October 29, before hosting Penn at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, their final home contest of the season.
