PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown women's soccer senior co-captain Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN) has been named to the SoccerBuzz Elite Team of the Week (10/25) after helping to lead Brown to a 2-0 week with four goals and one assist. This marks the third time this season that Moos has been named to the SoccerBuzz Elite Team of the week. With the nine points in the two games, Moos has now tallied 20 (9g,2a) of her Ivy League-leading 33 points in the past five games as Brown is 5-0-0 in those games, while outscoring its opposition 16-5.
On Wednesday at URI, Moos picked up her second career hat-trick and also added an assist. She gave Brown a 1-0 lead early in the game and then after URI scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead, Moos tied the game at 2-2 4:42 before halftime, converting a penalty kick for the second straight game. Moos added her third of the game, which would prove to be the game-winner 21 minutes into the second half and then she assisted the Bears' final goal of the game 18 minutes later for the 4-2 final. In Brown's win over Cornell, Moos converted her third penalty kick in as many games to give the Bears a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
With nine points on the week, Moos has further moved up in the Brown record books to the following marks - 4th in career goals (30), 11th in career assists (13), 7th in career points (73), 4th in season goals (14), 5th in season points (33). In every category except career assists, she is the first person to rank in the top 10 since Mia Dammen '95, passing Dammen in career goals, season goals, and tying her in season points. Almost every other player in the top 10 graduated from Brown in the 1980s, with the exception of Karin Alderton '90 and Nicki Barber '93 who also appear in the top 10 in select categories.
The Bears are back in action Sunday afternoon when they travel to Philadelphia to face Penn in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
