PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown women's soccer freshman goalie Brenna Hogue (Concord, CA) was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week (10/2/06) after helping the Bears to a 1-0-1 week, including a 0-0 tie with Ivy foe Columbia. Hogue allowed just one goal in 200 minutes of action, while posting her third shutout of the season against the Lions.
On Friday against Columbia, Hogue recorded a career-high seven saves, including all three shots she faced in overtime, in a 0-0 tie with the Lions to post her third shutout of the season. She made several saves on one-on-one situations from point-blank range to pick up the tie. On Sunday against Army, Hogue recorded four saves, while allowing just one goal late in the contest. For the weekend, she posted a .917 save percentage and a 0.45 goals against average to improve her season numbers to a 0.94 GAA, fourth in the Ivy League, and a .771 save percentage, third in the Ivy League.
In addition to Hogue, senior midfielder Jill Mansfield (East Windsor, NJ) earned a spot on the honor roll with the game-winning goal on Sunday against Army. Mansfield currently ranks third in the Ivy League with 10 points this season.
The Bears are back in action Saturday afternoon when they travel to New Jersey to face Princeton in a 4:00 p.m. Ivy League contest.
