Wilson Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Senior tri-captain Hilary Wilson (Monterey, CA), of the Brown women's soccer team has been selected this week's Ivy League Player of the Week for her play in leading Brown to 3-0-0 record last week. In addition, Wilson was also named the ECAC Goalie of the Week and to the SoccerBuzz Elite Team of the Week.
Wilson, who earned team MVP honors last year, has played every minute in net for the Bears so far this year. After Brown got off to an 0-2 start, Wilson led the Bears to three straight wins last week, including two shutouts.
She notched 37 total saves, while allowing just one goal, including a shutout streak of 268.01 minutes (including the last 26:39 of the 9/4 Sacred Heart game). In Brown's first victory of the year, Wilson stopped 14 shots in a 1-0 win over Boston University, several of them on one-on-one shots from point blank range, and several diving stops. In her next game, Wilson picked up her second straight shutout with a 10-save performance in Brown's 3-0 victory over Lafayette. Wilson followed that up with a 13-save performance, allowing just one goal, in Brown's 4-1 victory over Fordham. In five games this season, she currently has a 1.16 GAA and an .897 save percentage.
The Bears will look to continue their three-game winning streak this week when they host #11 Boston College at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
