Two Brown Women's Soccer Players Earn SoccerBuzz Post-Season Honors

Junior Michaela Sewall (Newton, MA) and freshman Kim LaVere (Chatsworth, CA) were each recognized by SoccerBuzz for their efforts on the soccer field this past fall. Sewall earned Third Team All-Regional honors, while LaVere was selected to the Northeast Regional All-Freshman team.

Sewall, the team leader in assists with five, she finished the season as the third-leading scorer on the team with 2-5-9 totals. An outstanding player in the air, Sewall ended the season raked 7th in the Ivy League in assists, en route to Honorable Mention All-Ivy recognition.

LaVere, who was one of nine freshmen selected to the All-Ivy team, earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy recognition, After starting the season in the midfield, she finished as Brown's starting sweeper. The second-leading rookie on the team in points, she ended sixth in Brown scoring with one goal and three assists, including the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Rhode Island.

The Brown women's soccer team finished the season with a 6-9-2 record, losing seven one-goal games. The Bears return eight of the top-ten scorers from this year for next season and nearly the entire defensive unit.
