Bekah Splaine Chosen To Play In The 6th Annual Umbro Select All-Star Classic

PROVIDENCE, RI- Brown senior women's soccer standout Bekah Splaine (Cambridge, MA) was chosen as a forward on the "East Squad" for the Umbro Select All-Star Classic to be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, February 1-4, 2001.

Splaine, who was recently honored as a First Team Northeast Regional All-American, was also selected to play in the NEWISA Senior All-Star game held in November. She will join an elite group of senior collegiate women's soccer players from across the nation in the four-day event next month.

She made her third consecutive appearance on an All-Ivy team this past season, earning Second Team honors. A First Team All-Ivy selection last season, Splaine was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 1998. The second-leading scorer on the team with 11 points (3g, 5a), Splaine has tallied a career total of 39 points (11g, 17a) in just three seasons for the Bears. Her 17 assists rank seventh all-time for career assists at Brown.
