PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's soccer team (7-8) picked up its first road win of the 2004 season with a 1-0 victory over cross-town rival Providence College (5-13) on Wednesday, October 27 at PC's Glay Field.
The Bears wasted little time in taking a 1-0 lead when junior Meghan Schreck (Hudson, MA) scored her sixth goal of the year just 4:36 into the game. Junior Christine Serdjenian (Waterville, ME) assisted on the goal, serving in the corner kick that Schreck booted into the back of the net from five yards out.
Providence nearly tied the game in the first half when Lauren Ritchie fired a header from in close that hit the post.
In net for the Bears, junior Hilary Wilson (Monterey, CA) recorded five saves to pick up her fourth shutout of the season, and second shutout win straight. Brown continues action on Saturday, October 30, when it travels to Philadelphia to take on Pennsylvania in a 12:00 noon Ivy League contest.
