Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision at Providence College

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Providence College Friars (4-3-2) scored once in each half to defeat Brown (3-2-2) in a Northeast regional women's soccer contest at Providence College Wednesday afternoon.

After nearly a half of scoreless action, the Friars got on the board in the 34th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

The Bears had several opportunities in the second half, outshooting Providence 11-3 in the final 45 minutes, but the Friars added another goal at the 57:03 mark, increasing their lead to 2-0, which is how the score remained.

For Brown, senior captain Caitlin Carey (Boxford, MA) and junior Molly Cahan (Encino, CA) each had four shots to lead the Bears, while junior Sarah Gervais (Harrisville, RI) finished with one save in 90 minutes of action.

The Bears continue action on Saturday, September 28, when they host Harvard in an Ivy League contest at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
