


Pincince Announces 10-Member Class of 2014
July 6, 2010Head womens soccer coach Phil Pincince has announced the incoming members of the Class of 2014. The 10-member class should prove instrumental in the success of not only the upcoming season, but also the future success of Brown womens soccer. The Class, which consists of two goalies, two backs, five midfielders, three of whom may also play forward, and one forward. The class represents eight states, with two players hailing from Colorado, and the District of Columbia. Other states represented include: California, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Utah.

Womens Soccer Announces 2009 Award Recipients
The Brown womens soccer team held its annual season-ending banquet, and five different individuals were honored with team awards. Senior captain Melissa Kim (Bethesda, MD) earned the Ridgely MVP Award, while classmate and fellow captain Bridget Ballard (Los Angeles, CA) was awarded the Sarah Nicholson Memorial Award. Senior Steffi Yellin (Savannah, GA) and junior Katie Gannett (Chicago, IL) were co-recipients of the Margeson Team Spirit Award, while junior Gina Walker (Canyon Country, CA) earned the Dobson-Kay Coaches Award.

Unity Through Sport
After Katie Gannett 11 graduated from the Groton School in Groton, Mass., she deferred on attending college right away, opting instead to travel in Central America andupon her return to the U.S.work for Results, a non-profit organization whose mission is to end poverty by empowering individuals to exercise their power for change.

Fall Academic All-Ivy Honorees Announced
The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with ten Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
