PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior back Alison Mullin (Boulder, Colo.) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team in women's soccer for the second consecutive season in an announcement made by CoSIDA on Thursday.
Mullin has helped backstop the Bears to an 8-5-1 overall record entering a crucial match against second-place Penn on Saturday at Stevenson Field. For the season, Mullin has registered one assist and eight shots while starting in all 14 games.
The senior was also named to the Academic All-District First Team in 2012 alongside teammate, Amber Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio.) and is only the third member of the Brown women's soccer program to earn the accolade multiple times. A 2011 recipient of the Dobson-Kay Coaches Award, Mullin has been a mainstay in the Bears' backfield, appearing in 64 games while starting in 39 from 2010-13. The Cognitive Neuroscience major has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.85 during her tenure at Brown.
Mullin and the Bears will host Penn on Saturday before a home-and-home series with Yale closes out the 2013-14 regular season.
