Coming off four consecutive 1-0 victories, the Brown women's soccer team travels to Hanover, NH this weekend to face Dartmouth in its 2012 Ivy League opener. Thursday's shutout over UMass, Brown's sixth shutout of the season, marked the 300th career win for Head Coach Phil Pincince. In reaching the 300-win milestone, Pincince became the 13th active Division I women's soccer coach to record 300 career victories. Senior Diana Ohrt (Simi Valley, CA) helped lead the Bears to the win, scoring the deciding goal in the 52nd minute of play. Junior goalies MC Barrett (Ithaca, NY) and Amber Bledsoe (Cincinnati, OH) were also instrumental, combining for 11 saves in their sixth shared shutout of the year.
Sunday's game at Dartmouth opens a stretch of 10 straight contests against Ivy League opponents. In addition to the seven league games, Brown will play non-league contests against Dartmouth (October 9), Harvard (October 24) and Yale (November 4).

ABOUT BROWN: Sophomore Chloe Cross (Seattle, WA) continues to lead the Bears with 8 points, all goals, including one game-winner, while junior Mika Siegelman (Piedmont, CA) is second on the team with 7 points (3g, 1a), including three game-winning goals. Junior Louisa Pitney (Washington, DC) is third on the team with 4 points (1g, 2a), while senior Eliza Marshall (North Andover, MA) is fourth with 3 points (1g, 1a). Senior Diana Ohrt (Simi Valley, CA) has also scored a goal this season, while an additional four have earned at least one assist, including junior Alison Mullin (Boulder, CO), who has a pair of assists. Junior Amber Bledsoe (Cincinnati, OH) has started all seven games in net and has earned a 0.29 GAA and a .938 save percentage, stopping 15 of 16 shots. Classmate MC Barrett (Ithaca, NY) has played the second half of each contest and has posted a 0.57 GAA with a .931 save percentage, recording 27 saves on 29 shots. The duo has combined to shut out six of Brown's seven opponents. Also key in helping lead the Brown defense has been Ohrt, Mullin, junior Emily Wingrove (Westwood, MA) and sophomore Annie Gillen (San Clemente, CA). Through seven games, Brown has played 26 members of the team, including seven freshmen, who have made their collegiate debuts.
LAST TIME VS. DARTMOUTH: Marybeth Lesbirel '12 broke a 0-0 tie 7:26 into overtime to lift the Bears to a 1-0 win over the Big Green. Maddie Wiener '14 (Portland, OR) and Allison Kagawa '12 earned assists on the goal, which was Lesbirel's first of the season. The teams played a relatively even game with Brown outshooting Dartmouth, 23-20, and Dartmouth earning eight corner kicks to Brown's four. MC Barrett '14 (Ithaca, NY) and Amber Bledsoe '14 (Cincinnati, OH) combined for eight saves, while Tatiana Saunders made six saves for the Big Green.
ABOUT DARTMOUTH: Winners of three straight games, the Big Green has shut out New Hampshire (3-0), Fordham (3-0) and NJIT (5-0). Dartmouth comes into its Ivy opener with a 5-2 record, having outscored its opposition, 17-6. Emma Brush leads the team with 12 points (5g, 2a), while Chrissy Lozier is second with 8 points (4g). Seven other players have scored at least one goal, while an additional two have earned at least one assist. Tatiana Saunders has started all seven games in goal for the Big Green and has recorded a 0.72 GAA with a .839 save percentage, stopping 26 of 31 shots.
UP NEXT: After playing seven straight non-league games to open the year, Brown has three straight Ivy League contests over the next two weeks. The Bears host Columbia at 4:00 on Saturday, September 29th, and then travel to Princeton on Saturday, October 6th.
