Sarah Hebert-Seropian Named 2011 Women’s Soccer Captain

PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown women's soccer head coach Phil Pincince has announced the captain for the 2011 season in a vote by members of the team. Rising senior Sarah Hebert-Seropian (Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec) was selected by her peers to lead the Bears this upcoming season.

A three-year starter for the Bears, Hebert-Seropian has played mostly at center midfield over the past three seasons. She started all 12 games she played in during the 2010 season, missing five due to injury, and scored one goal. Hebert-Seropian made an immediate impact as a rookie in 2008, finishing the year with six points (2g, 2a), including the overtime game-winner in Brown's 1-0 win over then #9 Penn State, en route to UConn Classic All-Tournament and Ivy Rookie of the Week honors. In 42 career games, 34 starts, Hebert-Seropian has 11 points (4g, 3a).

The Bears are tentatively set to open the 2011 season in Virginia, playing in the Liberty University Tournament the weekend of September 2nd.
