Three Brown Women’s Soccer Players Named All-Ivy

PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown University senior co-captain Gina Walker (Canyon Country, CA) and juniors Allison Kagawa (Mililani, HI) and Gloria Chun (Irvine, CA) have been named to the 2010 All-Ivy Women's Soccer Team as selected by the League's eight head coaches. Both Walker and Kagawa were named to the First Team, while Chun earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors.

A two-time All-Ivy honoree, Kagawa was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy in 2009 and is making her first appearance on the First Team. One of the Bears' defensive leaders, Kagawa started all 17 games, helping the Bears post a 1.11 GAA to go along with six shutouts. She also chipped in two assists at the other end of the field for the first two points of her career. In three seasons, Kagawa has started all 49 games.

Walker is making her first appearance on the All-Ivy team this season and joins Kagawa on the First Team. The Bears' leading scorer with 14 points, 4th in the Ivy League, Walker started all 17 games and also led Brown with five goals, 6th in the Ivy League, and four assists, 7th in the Ivy League. For her career, Walker played in 42 games, including all 32 over the past two seasons, and contributed 21 points (6g, 9a). Her nine career assists rank 19th all-time at Brown.

Chun, who is also making her first appearance on the All-Ivy team this year, started all 17 games in the backfield after playing in all 15 games (8 starts) in 2009. One of the Bears' top defenders, Chun helped Brown post a 1.11 GAA and six shutouts, and also contributed one assist this year. In 47 career games, 25 starts, Chun has tallied 4 points (1g, 2a).
