Mika Siegelman Named Ivy League co-Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown freshman women's soccer midfielder Mika Siegelman (Piedmont, CA) has been named Ivy League co-Rookie of the Week, marking the third straight week that Brown has earned a Rookie of the Week. Siegelman was instrumental in helping to lead Brown to a 1-1 week, as the Bears defeated UMass, 3-2, before falling narrowly to Dartmouth, 2-1.

In Thursday's win over UMass, Siegelman gave Brown a 1-0 lead with her first career goal. Set up for a free kick about 35 yards out, Siegelmen lofted a high shot directly into the wind that she placed perfectly into the upper right corner over the outstretched arms of the UMass keeper. Three days later against Dartmouth on Sunday, Siegelman converted a penalty kick late in the game for Brown's only goal. She is currently tied for second on the team with four points.

Brown returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when it hosts New Hampshire in a 4:30 p.m. contest at Stevenson Field.
