PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton (9-5, 5-2) scored nine straight goals to open the game and earn a 16-2 win over the Brown women's lacrosse team (4-10, 1-5) on Saturday afternoon at Class of 1952 Stadium.
The Tigers scored six times in a nine-minute span midway through the first half to take a 6-0 lead and then scored three more before freshman Kara Kelly (Garden City, NY) got Brown on the board three minutes before half-time.
After scoring the final goal of the first half with 1:55 remaining, the Tigers opened the second half with five straight goals to stretch their lead to 15-1 with 11:28 left.
Junior Justine Lupo (Ridgewood, NJ) notched Brown's second goal of the game with 9:05 left and Princeton added one more at 4:43 for the 16-2 final.
Princeton outshot Brown 31-15 with junior Melissa King (Pepper Pike, OH) recording 10 saves for the Bears.
The Bears close out the home and Ivy portion of their schedule on Wednesday afternoon, May 2, when they host Harvard in a 5:00 p.m. game.
