Box Score

PROVIDENCE, RI - Looking to avenge last year's 8-6 loss to the Bears, 16th-ranked Dartmouth (5-3, 2-0) cruised to an 11-0 first-half lead and never looked back en route to a 16-1 win over the Brown women's lacrosse team (4-4, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon in Hanover, NH.

The Big Green used a 26-15 advantage in shots in the victory, as the Bears couldn't find any momentum on the afternoon. One category that Brown did hold an advantage in was the draw control, as the Bears won 13 to Dartmouth's six.

Dartmouth's Dana Brisbane opened the scoring just 1:25 into the game and the hosts scored two more times on free position shots in the next four minutes to grab a 3-0 lead. Neither team would score over the next seven minutes, but Katherine Chiusano found the back of the net 12:28 into the half to increase Dartmouth's lead to 4-0. The Big Green received goals from five different players in the final 15:29 of the half, including two each by Sarah Parks and Kat Collins to open up an 11-0 lead at the break.

The Big Green scored the first four goals of the second half during the opening 8:42, as they held a 15-0 lead, before freshman leading scorer Katelyn Caro (Andover, MA) put an end to the Dartmouth scoring spree with her 17th goal of the year 9:46 into the half.

Dartmouth's Eliza Bennett tacked on one more goal about four minutes and neither team could find the back of the net again in the final 16:02, as the game ended, 16-1, in favor of the Big Green.

Junior Molly McCarthy (Scituate, MA) led the Bears with five draw controls, while senior Kelly Robinson (Marlton, NJ) had a team-high three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Freshman Isabel Harvey (Baltimore, MD) made six saves in net.

Several Bears played in their first career game this afternoon, including sophomore Melissa Logan (Cleveland Heights, OH), freshman Jaclyn Melicharek (Longwood, FL), and freshman Julia Keller (Concord, MA).

The Bears will look to rebound next Saturday, April 4, when they host Columbia at 12:00 noon.
