PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Brown women's lacrosse team (2-2) dropped a 16-11 decision to Temple on Friday afternoon in Philadelphia. The Owls opened the game with an 8-1 run over the first 11:34 en route to the victory. Brown battled back to come to within four goals three times, 12-8, 14-10, and 15-11, but the Bears could get no closer as Temple won its second straight contest.
Junior Amie Biros (Bethesda, MD) led Brown with three goals and one assist, while senior Kate Staley (Needham, MA) also scored three goals. With 79 career goals, Staley now needs just one more to move into Brown's all-time top 10 for career goals.
Freshman Bethany Buzzell (Middletown, MD) scored twice in the loss, while sophomore Mimi DeTolla (Stony Brook, NY), freshman Noelle DiGioia (Pittsburgh, PA), and sophomore Justine Lupo (Ridgewood, NJ) each tallied one goal.
The Bears continue action on Sunday, March 19th, when they face Delaware at 12:00 noon in Newark, DE.
