Christine Mastro starts her second season as 2nd assistant coach for the Bears. Mastro's main duties include the recruiting of student-athletes, travel coordination, and assisting in all aspects of practice planning. On field coaching responsibilities are not limited to, but lie primarily with, the Bears attack.

A December 1999 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor if Science in K-12 Health and Physical Education, Mastro also served as an assistant tennis coach and the head boys and girls swimming coach while substituting at Cave Spring. She helped the tennis team finish as the Roanoke Valley District Champions and her boys swim team finished as the Roanoke Valley District, Northwest Region and AAA State Champions under her direction.

As a four-year member of the Virginia Tech women's lacrosse team, Mastro helped guide the team to finish as the Atlantic-10 Conference Champions in her senior season. A starter on attack, Mastro was the 1999 recipient of the Coach's Award following her senior season. In addition, she was on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll from 1997-1999, earning Dean's List recognition in 1999.

A native of Latham, New York, Mastro now resides in Providence.
