


#13 Princeton Utilizes Five-Goal Run at End of First in Handing Bears a 16-6 Defeat in 2010 Ivy Opener
March 13, 2010The 13th-ranked Princeton womens lacrosse team (2-2, 1-0) broke a 3-3 tie with five straight goals in the final 2:42 of the first half to take an 8-3 lead at the break and earn a 16-6 victory over the Bears (2-2, 0-1) in their 2010 Ivy opener. The game was played during a steady downpour at Browns Berylson Family Fields.

Women's Lacrosse to Open Ivy Season against #13 Princeton
The Bears, currently 2-0 in home games, host #13 Princeton in their 2010 Ivy opener. This marks the second straight year that Brown will open its Ivy schedule during this weekend, as the Bears earned an 12-8 win over Harvard in their 2009 Ivy opener on March 14th. Brown will look to post its second straight win, after claiming a 13-10 victory over Quinnipiac last Sunday. Against the Bobcats, sophomore Kaela McGilloway paced the offense with four goals and two assists, while freshman Lindsay Minges added three goals. Junior Paris Waterman also had two goals, while senior Molly McCarthy scored one and assisted two others. McCarthy also led the Bears with four ground balls and three draw controls, while Minges and junior Krissi Penikis each had three ground balls. Sophomore Isabel Harvey stopped five shots.

Late Run Powers Womens Lacrosse Past Quinnipiac 13-10
Providence, RI- Sophomore Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY) scored four goals and freshman Lindsay Minges (Rochester, NY) added three to help lead the Brown womens lacrosse team to a 13-10 victory over Quinnipiac this afternoon at Berylson Field. The win improved Brown to 2-1 on the year, while the Bobcats dropped to 0-2.

Bears Return Home to Host Quinnipiac on Sunday at 1:00
Having split their first two games of the season, the Bears will look to rebound from Wednesday's 9-5 loss to #12 Boston University, when they host Quinnipiac (0-1) this Sunday, March 7th, in a 1:00 p.m. contest. The game begins a two-game homestand for Brown, which will host Princeton in its 2010 Ivy opener on March 13th.
