    Brown University had 10 student-athletes garner Academic All-Ivy accolades in an announcement made by the Ivy League on Wednesday. The five men and five women were key contributors to their respective spring teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

  • Women’s Lacrosse Closes Season with 17-13 Upset of No. 21/15 Dartmouth

    The Brown women's lacrosse team closed out the 2018 season by upsetting No. 21/15 Dartmouth, 17-13, on Saturday at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The Bears gained a 10-7 lead by halftime and increased their advantage to as many as seven (14-7) in the second half while halting a Dartmouth surge towards the end for the victory. Brown ends the year with a 9-6 overall record and a 2-5 mark in conference action while Dartmouth moves to 11-4 with the defeat and 5-2 in the Ivy League.

The Lions held a two goal lead with three minutes remaining in the contest and shutdown multiple scoring chances by the Bears. Brown falls to 8-6 overall and 1-5 in the Ivy League with the loss while Columbia moves to 6-8 on the year and 3-3 in conference action.

    After a close first half, Harvard opened the second half with five straight goals to help guide the Crimson to a 17-14 win over the Brown women's lacrosse team on Saturday at Harvard Stadium. Junior Caroline Zaffino (Darien, Conn.) led the Bears (8-5, 1-4 Ivy League) in scoring on the day with three goals and one assist while five different Bears recorded two goals apiece.

    After trailing 13-8 in the second half, the Brown women's lacrosse team rattled off six-straight goals including the game winner from junior Caroline Zaffino (Darien, Conn.) to knock off No. 23 Cornell, 14-13, on Saturday at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The victory marks the Bears’ first over the Big Red since 1999, which was also a one-goal decision (12-11). Brown improves to 8-4 overall and picked up its first win in Ivy League play to move to 1-3 while Cornell now stands at 6-5 on the year and 2-2 in conference action.
