      <title>Three Women's Laxers Named to 2012 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll</title>

      <description>Three members of the Brown women's lacrosse team are among 173 Division I student-athletes from across the country recognized on the 2012 IWLCA National Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a member of the varsity lacrosse team, must have achieved junior or senior standing academically, and must have achieved a GPA of 3.20 or higher. 19 student-athletes from the Ivy League were recognized in 2012, representing seven of the eight League programs.</description>

      <title>Women&#x2019;s Lacrosse Recognized with 2nd-Highest GPA in the Country</title>

      <description>For the second consecutive year, the Brown women&#x2019;s lacrosse team was recognized as having one of the top three team GPAs in the country, earning IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women&#x2019;s Lacrosse Coaches Association) Merit Squad Status. Institutions were named Merit Squads by virtue of having one of the top three team GPAs for the season.</description>

The five females and five males were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.</description>

      <title>McGilloway and Roos Named All-Ivy</title>

      <description>Brown senior Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY) and sophomore Erin Roos (Wilmette, IL) have been named Second Team All-Ivy in a vote by the eight Ivy League women&#x2019;s lacrosse coaches, announced by the League Wednesday afternoon. For McGilloway, it marks her third consecutive appearance on the Second Team, while Roos earned All-Ivy honors for the first time in her career. Roos was one of only two sophomores to earn a spot on either the First or Second Team, joining Dartmouth sophomore goalie Kristen Giovanniello. The remaining 20 First and Second Team honorees were all juniors and seniors.</description>

      <description>The Brown women&#x2019;s lacrosse team (6-8, 1-6) closed out its 2012 season with a 16-8 loss to #12 Cornell (11-4, 5-2) on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Field. The Bears went ahead, 1-0, in the opening 29 seconds, but Cornell scored nine of the next 10 goals to take a 9-2 lead, and never looked back en route to the victory. Brown was led by freshman Alexandra Crerend (New Canaan, CT), who had three goals, while senior Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY) had two goals and an assist.</description>

Trailing, 9-2, at the half and then 11-2 just 3:35 after the break, Brown scored three goals to cut the deficit to 11-5. However, the Bears could get no closer than six goals, 12-6, as Penn scored three goals in the final 4:39 to account for the 15-6 final.</description>

In addition to McGilloway&#x2019;s seven points, her second consecutive seven-point game, the Bears also received multiple-point outings from freshman Alexandra Crerend (New Canaan, CT), and sophomores Bre Hudgins (Syracuse, NY) and Danielle Mastro (Endicott, NY), who all had two goals and an assist.</description>

Trailing, 9-7, early in the second half, the Bears mounted a comeback attempt, but could never get any closer than a goal, and the Crusaders were able to hold on for the victory. Brown was led by senior Julia Keller (Concord, MA), who had three goals, including one with 42 seconds left to bring the Bears to within 11-10.</description>
