PROVIDENCE, RI – Six members of the Brown women's lacrosse team are among 187 Division I student-athletes from across the country recognized on the 2011 IWLCA National Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a member of the varsity lacrosse team, must have achieved junior or senior standing academically, and must have achieved a GPA of 3.20 or higher. Individually, Brown's six honorees was second in the country behind Stanford (7), and was the highest in the Ivy League. Columbia was second behind Brown with four honorees, while Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, and Princeton all had two honorees.
Individuals on the Brown team honored include members of the Class of 2011, Paris Waterman (Newark, DE), who also earned the honor in 2010, Alexa Caldwell (Middletown, DE), and Krissi Penikis (Swarthmore, PA), and current seniors Julia Keller (Concord, MA), Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY), Margaret Polanin (Chatham, NJ).
