PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown women's lacrosse standout Paris Waterman (Newark, DE) was one of 21 Ivy League women's lacrosse players named to the 2011 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Teams. A total of 136 athletes were honored as first or second team selections in the four regions, as Waterman was named Second Team Northeast after earning First Team Northeast honors a year ago.
A First Team All-Ivy honoree for the second consecutive season, Waterman followed her breakthrough junior year for the Bears with another outstanding season, while playing more of a defensive role throughout the year. A current member of the U.S. National Team, Waterman finished third on the team with 32 points (26, 6a), while drawing the attention of the opponents' defense all year. A key player on the draw, Waterman finished the year with 21 draw controls, 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. In 60 career games, all starts, Waterman finished her Brown career with 80 points (64g, 16a). She will also leave Brown with 91 career ground balls, 58 career caused turnovers (7th all-time), and 61 career draw controls (12th all-time).
