Kara Kelly Selected to Play in IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game

Providence, RI - Brown senior women's lacrosse standout Kara Kelly (Garden City, NY) has been selected to compete in the 2010 IWLCA Division I North-South Senior All-Star Game as part of the North Team. The contest will take place at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA on Saturday, June 12 at 12:00 noon. She is among a group of 40 senior student-athletes from Division I who were recognized with this honor in their final year of eligibility and one of five seniors from the Ivy League named to the squad. The North Team will be coached by Albany's Lindsey Hart, while James Madison's Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe will coach the South Team.

A valuable member of the defense and midfield during her career, Kelly played in 61 of 62 games over the past four years, missing just one game, due to an injury. She has ranked among the team leaders in ground balls each season, finishing fourth on the team in the category last year and third as a sophomore. This season, Kelly finished second on the team with 32 ground balls and also contributed 13 draw controls and nine caused turnovers. For her career, Kara has earned 33 points, scoring 31 goals and assisting two. She also has 96 ground balls, a mark that ranks 17th all-time at Brown, 43 draw controls, and 39 caused turnovers.
